Following the success of previous years, Chelmsford City Council’s Community Sport and Wellbeing Team will again be running Play in the Park sessions throughout the Easter and Summer holidays, completely free of charge.
Aimed at those aged 3-11 years, each two hour long session is packed full of sports and other activities. Last year Playworkers and volunteers provided quality sports and activities to over 4,000 children across 22 venues. Some of the more popular sessions included soft play and a fantastic ‘inflatable disco dome’, cycle awareness and even parkour lessons with qualified professionals! The busiest of these sessions attracted almost 300 local children last year.
The friendly and approachable Play Workers are always there to help, and are fully trained to ensure that your child can participate in the activities on offer in the most enjoyable and safest possible environment.
Chelmsford City Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Councillor Julia Jeapes, said: “Our feedback in recent years has been full of thanks and hugely positive of the scheme. People especially commend the diverse range of activities which ensure that each session can be fully enjoyed by children at both ends of the age spectrum, making Play in the Park a fantastic family activity.”
