Just a couple of weeks after Ringway Jacobs finished "planned" maintenance at the Army & Navy flyover, issues with the repairs have already started to appear. From the evidence in the photos below you can see what I would describe as a botch job, scandalous, irresponsible, what on earth are we paying nearly £154 million pounds to Ringway Jacobs for, does public safety count for nothing.
After members of GBENA found many many apparent safety issues with the flyover, Essex County Council closed it for three weeks, they said it was planned, we say it was hastily organised in response to public concerns about safety.
The concrete cancer has not been addressed and the botch job could mean the public are yet again put at risk. If they had of treated it properly there would be no cracks and no seepage of rust. I can tell you i was shocked at the poor quality of the work and want to know why they repairs were not carried out to industry standards.
Cllr Kevin Bentley at ECC has many questions to answer, we want an independent survey carried out on the flyover and we want to know how long the life of the flyover is.
Here's another video we took on Saturday down at the flyover.
PS I now believe contractors may have knocked the steel pillar behind me out of place, i originally though it was through incorrect installation when it was put up. We've just got to find the photo of before to prove it.
